OP is either stupid or a liar. To disable Steam overlay, check “Enable the Steam Overlay”. BPM is also the default chat overlay in some games, meaning that "disable BPM" function within Steam is more or less useless. Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts. I just wanted the games, not store that locks the games into place. Just wait until you find out that any friend invitation while you're playing gives you a full-screen interruption, even if you have Big Picture turned off. Uncheck this to disable it. But for games like rocket league it's just a huge hassle to type because the keyboard overlay pops up and covers the entire game. DISCLAIMER 1: The whole reason that I classify Big Picture as MALWARE is because there's NO WAY TO GET AROUND IT WHILE THERE SHOULD BE. As a side not, I would like to point out, the bit on Big Picture in the initial post is only as another side note referring to the configurator not being normally accessible from the desktop version. To head the question off at the pass, you disable the overlay entirely in the Steam options, "in-game", and uncheck "enable Steam overlay in game". Lately, there's been that update where if you have your Steam Controller plugged in when you launch a game, Big Picture Overlay is enabled. I like leaving the "Use the Big Picture Overlay when using a Steam Controller from the desktop" option on for most of my games so I can easily tweak controller settings on the fly. By your definition of Malware, you make it seem as if Steam and every digital distribution is Malware. Thanks a … It's so you can use the Steam Controller without having to use Big Picture Mode, it will just used the BPM overlay instead of the desktop overlay.
